Don’t hate me but I’ve always liked Mondays, since forever. It’s always been one of my favourite days of the week and I think it gets really bad press.
When I was younger I always loved the thought of going back in to school after the weekend, mainly to see my crush of the moment and just because I’d missed the social aspect over the weekend. I loved catching up with all my friends in the playground after a weekend and loved the gossip even more!
I work from home now so it’s not quite the same, but in my last job Monday was the day we were all in the office together so it was always the best time for us to catch up on work and share stories of our weekend.
I find Monday is my most productive day; fresh after the weekend and ready to go with my to do lists along with great intentions for the week. By Tuesday I’m not so perky, Wednesday I find quite dull and then I’m perked up again by Thursday and Friday!
I am sympathetic for those who dread Monday, as I know that feeling is unbearable especially after a heavy weekend; I’ve always been lucky enough to like my job but even when temping in the WORST places I still quite enjoyed a Monday, just always seems like a fresh start.
Obviously no week day can beat a Friday, and Thursday night is pretty much where the fun begins but lets be kinder to Monday – it’s exhausting hating something before its even begun.
You never know, with a tiny bit of kindness towards Monday we might even all start to enjoy it!
