Whether I’m single or in a relationship I’ve always enjoyed Valentine’s Day, deciding if or what to get someone, hearing about what everyone receives and even moaning about what we didn’t receive!
When I was little I used to always get a little gift from my older siblings or my dad, which I loved. Valentine’s Day to me has always been cute and fun because of that. Then, when I was old enough to get things from boys that was even more exciting. We used to leave cards in the lockers for the boys at school and vice versa which used to cause much school girl induced hysteria.
Like Christmas, my favourite part of Valentine’s day is getting lovely stuff for other people – whether it be my single friends to perk them and make them smile, a boyfriend or just the current heart’s desire! What can be more fun than preparing a little something for your current crush to spice February up a little bit.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be a couple thing – it can be a day of celebrating any form of love, even with your dog! ; )
Cupid or no Cupid – what we really need to remember on this day – commercial reasons or otherwise (in the words of Richard Curtis) is that love really is all around, and why not use this one day of the year at least, to embrace that.
Happy Valentine’s Day – believers and non believers! ❤
